Search for New Physics in the Bs Sector at the Tevatron
نویسنده
چکیده
At the Tevatron B s mesons are copiously produced in pp̄ collisions at a center of mass energy of √ s = 1.96 TeV. Having recorded datasets corresponding to an integrated luminosity of more than 5 fb, the two Tevatron experiments CDF and D0 are able to perform detailed studies of B s mesons. Essential for these analyses are triggers that efficiently select events with B s mesons. They are identified by decays to J/ψ mesons with J/ψ → μμ, semileptonic decays to muons (D0), or hadronic decays with a displaced decay vertex (CDF). The B s mesons are a promising place to search for physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) because several flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) processes can be measured in the B s system. As there are no FCNC processes at tree level in the SM, new physics contributions may be sizable. Two rare FCNC decay modes of the B s that are analyzed at the Tevatron are B s → μμ and B s → μμφ. Another interesting FCNC process is the oscillation of B s mesons. It is described by a Schrödinger equation

Constraints on B and Higgs Physics in Minimal Low Energy Supersymmetric Models
We study the implications of minimal flavor violating low energy supersymmetry scenarios for the search of new physics in the B and Higgs sectors at the Tevatron collider and the LHC. We show that the already stringent Tevatron bound on the decay rate Bs → μ+μ− sets strong constraints on the possibility of generating large corrections to the mass difference ∆Ms of the Bs eigenstates. We also sh...
متن کاملCKM matrix fits including constriants on New Physics
I review the status of global fits to the CKM matrix within the framework of the Standard Model and also allowing for New Physics contributions in B − B̄ mixing. The driving force is coming from the large data sets collected by the B-factory experiments BABAR and Belle. Additional important inputs to the Bs sector are provided by the Tevatron experiments CDF and D0. In particular, when constrain...
متن کاملHeavy B Hadrons
The CDF and DØ experiments have successfully collected data since start of the Run II at the Tevatron Collider in 2001. The large B-meson production cross-section and the possibility to produce all kind of B hadron states, opened to the two collaborations the possibility to study with high precision the tiny effects of CP-violation in the Heavy B hadrons system, and to search for new physics ef...
متن کاملSearches for Supersymmetry at the Tevatron
Both Tevatron experiments, DØ and CDF, have searched for signs of Supersymmetry in the present Run II data sample, using integrated luminosities of up to 260 pb collected in pp̄ collisions at a centerof-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. In these proceedings, new results are presented in the search for squarks and gluinos in the jets and missing transverse energy final state, associated production of char...
متن کاملCP Violation and New Physics in Bs Decays
The Bs-meson system is a key element in the B-physics programme of hadron colliders, offering various avenues to explore CP violation and to search for new physics. One of the most prominent decays is Bs → J/ψφ, the counterpart of Bd → J/ψKS, providing a powerful tool to search for new-physics contributions to B s–B 0 s mixing. Another benchmark mode is Bs → K K, which complements Bd → π π, the...
